About me
I am a qualified counsellor based in Leeds offering unlimited counselling both face to face and online. I am trained in working with individual adults for a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety and bereavement. I also have a special interest in those suffering from chronic stress, 'burn-out' and managing past traumatic experiences.
Counselling can be helpful:
If you are feeling self-critical and anxious all the time that it is now holding you back in your life.
Feeling sad, depressed or have a low mood that feels like a dark cloud that won't shift.
Suffering from a recent loss, traumatic experience or life transition and need to talk about it to someone impartial who listens.

What to expect from me:
I believe the success of therapy is based on the quality of the of the therapeutic relationship between us. I am dedicated to offering a safe, kind, and accepting space for you to talk through some of your feelings and explore some of the challenges you are experiencing. I may integrate other therapeutic approaches focussing on helpful strategies, looking at the past and unconscious behaviour or suggesting more creative ways to communicate difficult emotions in the moment. The aim is always unique to you, in working towards movement and connection to yourself and others in your life.

Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified Psychotherapist and Counsellor with a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy. (Level 7)
My initial training is grounded in Purist Person-Centred Therapy. A belief in everyone's ability and human right towards positive living by offering respect for personal autonomy and empathic 'way of being.'
I am also registered with the BACP working with the standards and ethics of the profession.
I have volunteered for over 2 years with UK Counselling Network offering counselling to adults with a wide range of issues.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

I offer a free 20 minute telephone consultation, to get to to get to know you, some of the challenges your experiencing and your hopes for counselling. If we then decide to work together we will arrange or first session.
Sessions are 50 minutes either face to face, telephone or online charged at £50.
