About me
Are you carrying a heavy load?
Whether you are healing from past trauma, navigating daily anxiety, or simply exhausted from masking how hard things are, you don't have to do it alone. I offer a warm, down-to-earth space to help you process what you are going through and start feeling like yourself again.
On the outside, you might look like you have it all together. You might even be the person everyone else relies on. But keeping up that appearance while struggling internally with a racing mind or low self-confidence is exhausting. If you are tired of just getting through the week in survival mode, we can work together to find a more sustainable way forward.
I offer a free 15-minute intro call you can book directly using the button above.
How I can help.
I provide a safe, non-judgmental space here in Leighton Buzzard and online. Having navigated my own journey of burnout and the pressure to always "keep going," I genuinely understand the toll it takes to be the "strong one."
We will work together at a pace that feels right for you, making sense of what has happened and helping you rediscover your resilience without the pressure of having to perform. I offer tailored support for adults navigating:
- Anxiety & Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD): Calming a dysregulated nervous system and a racing mind so you can finally catch your breath.
- Low Self-Confidence & Self-Worth: Quieting that inner critic that always says you aren't doing enough.
- The "Burnout Trap": Constant fatigue, overwhelm, and the inability to switch off.
- Neurodivergence: Navigating ADHD/AuDHD and the exhaustion of masking.
Trauma & The Past:
Understanding how past experiences are shaping your reactions today. Trauma doesn't always come from one big event. It can build slowly, especially if your needs were minimised or ignored. Therapy can help you gently rebuild your connection to yourself.
How we work together
At Carlie's Healing Space, there is no rigid script. I run a deliberately "anti-clinical" practice. I offer a person-centred, trauma-informed approach where you set the pace.
We might use talking therapy to understand your patterns, or we might use creative tools and grounding techniques (like journaling or mindfulness) to help calm your nervous system.
Flexible Formats:
- In-Person: In my quiet, comfortable space just outside Leighton Buzzard in Burcott.
- Walk & Talk: Perfect for those who want to combine therapy with fresh air and movement (great for getting "unstuck" without the pressure of sitting in a room).
- Online: Accessible from the comfort of your own home.
Session Availability & Flexibility
I currently have spaces available for daytime appointments, with limited evening slots. These daytime sessions work beautifully for shift workers, students, parents with school-hours availability, or anyone looking to prioritise their mental health during the working week.
I also understand that therapy needs to fit into your life and your budget. I typically work with clients on a weekly basis, but we can always explore what rhythm works best for you.
Taking the First Step
I know that reaching out for the first time takes courage. I offer a free 15-minute introductory call so you can ask questions and see if we are a good fit, with absolutely no pressure to book.
To make beginning therapy that little bit easier, your first full session is available at a welcome rate of £45.
If you’re ready to stop just getting through the day and start prioritizing your own wellbeing, I’m here to help. Please send me a quick message or click 'Book Intro Call' above. I look forward to connecting with you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a trauma-informed, person-centred counsellor with lived experience. I’ve been the person sitting on the other side too. My own journey through trauma and healing has shaped how I work. I understand how hard it can be to reach out, and how powerful it is to feel truly heard and supported. I'm dedicated to supporting individuals on their own journey to healing and well-being. I believe in the power of empathy, compassion, and a safe therapeutic space to facilitate growth and self-discovery. My own experiences have given me a unique understanding of the challenges many face, and I bring this empathy to my work.
I've completed 4 1/2 years of in-depth training, culminating in a level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Studies, alongside Level 3 in counselling studies, level 2 in counselling skills and level 2 introduction to counselling. I'm also trained in Trauma stabilisation. This comprehensive training, combined with my lived experience, allows me to offer a deeply supportive and understanding approach to therapy.
Currently, I work within the mental health sector for a well-known mental health charity, further enriching my understanding of the complexities of mental health. I also volunteer for a sexual assault and domestic abuse service, where I provide crucial support to survivors.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), adhering to their ethical frameworks and committed to ongoing professional development. I am passionate about empowering individuals to overcome challenges, build resilience, and live fulfilling lives.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
