About me

We are more than what has happened to us, the central question is: 'who do you want to become?' Being able to move from patterns of behaviour rooted in the past, into the way we want to be in the here and now, is a deeply profound and personal journey for us. Drawing from Transactional Analysis, my work in Psychotherapy involves working with men to recognise the creative ways they adapt to overcome difficult or painful experiences, working with male clients to facilitate change and helping them to re-write their stories. Find out more about me, my way of working and a range of articles I’ve written on my website!

As Founder of Inner Warrior Therapy & coming from a rugby background, I have a deep passion for supporting men on their journey to self-development and healing. With 4 years of experience, I am registered with the UKCP, UKATA and accredited with the NCPS using their ethical framework ensuring that I am able to provide effective and compassionate male-focussed therapy. I specialise working with men, however I also work with women and couples with a wide range of presenting issues.

My approach is rooted in: empathy, authenticity and collaboration. I believe in creating a safe and non-judgmental space where men can explore their thoughts, feelings, and experiences openly. Through exploring past and present patterns together, we can create new ways of being in the world.

I am aware that my responses to enquiries may go into the junk/spam folders, I would invite you to regularly check the relevant folder if you do not receive a response as I endeavour to respond to all enquiries within 24 hours. If you are ready, let's begin at the Wellness Hub in Falmouth.

Training, qualifications & experience

I’m a Transactional Analyst in Psychotherapy in Advanced Training. I am fully qualified and accredited with the NCPS and I have completed several years of Advanced, Level 7 Masters training. I am now on my fifth year of clinical training and on the final stretch of my journey to become a Registered Psychotherapist  with the UKCP through undertaking my Certified Transactional Analyst (CTA) exam, where I will have completed 7 years of study in total.

The CTA exam process is exceptionally rigorous and academically demanding and this process is designed to ensure that those who complete and pass are highly knowledgeable, hugely experienced and committed to their work.

I use Transactional Analysis, an empirically proven effective talking therapy method. You will be invited to consider how your past has informed your current way of being. I will listen, clarify, support and challenge you to be more aware of your way of being. We will explore how to make transformative changes in your life to help you to be happier, more fulfilled and settled in the here and now.

I have extensive experience working with men presenting with a wide range of issues: anxiety and stress management, depression, trauma recovery, self-esteem and confidence building, relationship issues, life transitions and personal growth, sport psychotherapy, men and male anger.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I specialise in supporting men with a variety of challenges, but my experience extends to working with women and couples as well. One of my research and clinical interests lies in supporting elite athletes, who struggle with career-ending injuries, retirement, or the diagnosis of brain injuries among many others. These experiences can be existentially difficult when our identity is so firmly held in what we do, and I’m passionate about helping others rewrite their stories and find new meaning in their lives.

I’m here to help you explore and change the patterns that might be holding you back, empowering you to create the life you truly want.

Further information

Before I became a Psychotherapist, my background was in rugby. After a shoulder injury cut my playing career short, I transitioned to teaching P.E. However, it was through my own experience of seeking psychological support that I discovered a deep passion for helping others, in particular men, who often find it difficult to receive the support they need.

Exploring and researching how to better improve talking therapy for men has become a big research interest of mine, and I am an advocate of male-focussed therapy, using up to date scientific research and literature to inform my way of working with men. I continue to undertake research in this area alongside my clinical practice and it is my passion to ensure all men have somewhere to re-write their story.

While my rugby career may have ended, I still enjoy life’s adventures – I'm an avid surfer and love exploring Cornwall’s beautiful coastal paths with my two dogs by my side. I am proud to partner with Hayle Surf School, as I firmly believe in the powerful connection between mental and physical health. Together, we aim to integrate psychological support with the transformative benefits of surfing. The physical challenges of surfing, combined with the healing power of "blue spaces" like the ocean, offer a unique opportunity for clients to reconnect with the present moment. I believe this fusion can create profound, lasting change, especially for men, by helping them to build a stronger foundation for well-being.
