About me

Hello, I’m Cally, a qualified counsellor offering a warm, supportive space where you can talk openly and feel truly heard.

Starting counselling can feel like a big step, especially if you’re unsure where to begin. My role is not to judge, diagnose, or tell you what you should do. Instead, I work alongside you to understand your experiences from your perspective. By combining a Person-Centred approach with Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), I aim to help you build greater self-awareness, develop practical tools for managing difficulties, and move towards meaningful and lasting change.

What matters most to me is creating a genuine therapeutic relationship where you feel safe, understood, and accepted exactly as you are. I believe that when someone feels truly listened to, it can open the door to new perspectives, resilience, and personal growth. Every person’s story is unique, so I tailor our sessions around what you need rather than following a fixed structure.

My work is grounded in real-life experience. Alongside private practice, I currently work within a secondary school, supporting young people aged 11–18, as well as adult staff members. This role allows me to stay closely connected to the challenges many people face today, particularly around anxiety, self-esteem, stress, and emotional wellbeing. I am DBS registered on the update service and have previously provided counselling with Sheffield Mind.

I work with a wide range of concerns including anxiety, depression, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, bereavement, low self-esteem, and stress.

I offer telephone, online, and in-person counselling. Currently, in-person sessions are available in the Sheffield area on Thursdays between 10am and 2pm.

If you’re considering counselling, you don’t have to have everything figured out before reaching out. Sometimes simply having a space to talk can be the first step toward feeling more understood and supported.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
