About me
Welcome
Hi, I'm Cal - I'm really glad you're here.
Are you feeling stuck, lost, overwhelmed, or unsure where life is heading?
Perhaps life no longer feels how it once did. Relationships may have changed, grief may have touched your life, or you may simply feel disconnected from who you once were. You might find yourself questioning your identity, your direction, or wondering how you ended up here. Things that once felt certain may no longer make sense, leaving you feeling stuck somewhere between what was and what's next.
It can be lonely, confusing, and exhausting trying to make sense of it all on your own.
My counselling space offers a calm, grounded place to pause and take stock. Together, we can begin to gently untangle what's been happening, gain a deeper understanding of how you got here, and explore what feels right for you now. The focus isn't on fixing you or rushing towards solutions. Instead, it's about creating the space for understanding, self-awareness and clarity to emerge naturally.
I work in a person-centred way, which means the pace, focus and direction of therapy are shaped by you. My role is to offer warmth, understanding and steadiness as we explore your experiences together. Many people find that being truly heard and accepted, without judgement or pressure, can create space for meaningful change.
Alongside person-centred counselling and psychotherapy, I also offer EMDR therapy (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing). I may also draw upon IFS (Internal Family Systems) principles where appropriate, allowing therapy to be tailored to your individual needs and experiences. Whether you're looking to explore current difficulties, make sense of the past, or develop a greater understanding of yourself, we can work together in a way that feels right for you.
Many of the people I work with come to therapy during times of change. They may be navigating grief or loss, relationship difficulties, life transitions, questions around identity, anxiety, trauma, or simply a sense that life doesn't feel quite how they want it to. Whatever brings you here, there is no right or wrong place to begin.
The first step is simply allowing yourself to be where you are. From there, something new can begin to take shape.
How I Work
I understand that everyone accesses support differently, which is why I offer a range of ways to meet:
Face-to-face counselling and psychotherapy
Walk & Talk therapy
Home visits
Online therapy (via Zoom, MS Teams or WhatsApp Video)
Telephone counselling
I know life can be unpredictable, so I offer flexible appointments to fit around your schedule.
Before moving into private practice, I spent many years supporting people through significant life challenges within community and residential settings. These experiences continue to inform my compassionate, grounded and non-judgemental approach to therapy today.
Ready to Talk?
Taking that first step can feel daunting, but you don't have to do it alone.
Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, navigating a life change, or simply curious about therapy, you're welcome to get in touch.
I offer a free 20-minute introductory session where we can talk about what's bringing you to therapy, answer any questions you may have, and explore whether working together feels like the right fit.
Just come as you are.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
