About me

Hi, I’m Beverley, and I’m a qualified Art Psychotherapist. I offer a creative and supportive space where you can explore emotions, process experiences, and reconnect with yourself, especially when words feel too difficult or limiting.

Art therapy is a gentle yet powerful way to express what’s going on inside using materials like paint, clay, drawing, or collage. You don’t need to be “good at art”—this is about self-expression, not artistic skill. Together, we can explore your feelings through colour, shape, image, and metaphor, helping you make sense of your experiences, build resilience, and move towards emotional healing.

Art therapy can support people of all ages with a wide range of issues, including anxiety, trauma, low mood, stress, and emotional overwhelm. I work with both individuals and groups, in person or online, and tailor sessions to your unique needs.

What is Art Therapy, and how can it help me?

Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses creative expression to support mental health and emotional wellbeing. It can be especially helpful for those who struggle to talk about their feelings, or when words simply aren't enough. Sometimes, using materials can reduce the pressure or stigma around sharing emotions, allowing individuals to explore their experiences from a safe distance. Visualisation, metaphor, and storytelling through the artwork created can offer valuable insight into your inner world. Together, we can look at the artwork and explore what it may be communicating. You’re welcome to book a free introductory call to ask any questions and meet me in person (or online) before starting therapy.

Clinical experience:

I have experience working with adults facing anxiety, depression, birth trauma, baby loss, and difficulties with conception. I’ve recently completed further training in delivering art therapy within a relationship, building on my work with families to support bonding and attachment during pregnancy and early parenthood. Additional training in supporting looked-after and adopted children, along with over a decade of experience as a teacher, has given me a strong foundation in working with children and young people—particularly in building trust, promoting emotional wellbeing, and ensuring safety.

I tailor each session to the individual, using a range of creative approaches to help people express emotions, process experiences, and build confidence. I offer both in-person and online sessions to ensure therapy is flexible and accessible.

My aim is to help people feel heard, understood, and supported—using art to process emotions, strengthen resilience, and foster positive change.

Further information

Although in-person sessions are often preferred to allow access to a wider range of materials provided by the therapist, online sessions are also available. These sessions can easily be adapted and are just as effective, using visualisation techniques and simple materials that can be found around the home. Whether it’s pen and paper, kitchen items, or even children’s toys, anything can be used to help express thoughts and feelings creatively. To enhance the experience, the therapist can also provide a care package of basic art supplies to support and enrich the therapy process when needed.
