About me

Coronavirus Update:

In this current season of uncertainty due to Lockdown and the pandemic, I am aware of the increasing loneliness, depression and anxiety that many of the population are struggling with. I am currently offering counselling and supervision online and on the telephone, to ensure I can continue to support you in the most appropriate way given current restrictions.

I am a BACP accredited and registered counsellor and a qualified supervisor too. I have 16 years experience counselling in various settings such as schools, universities, employee assistance programmes and in private practice too. I have an up to date enhanced DBS check.

I offer a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space in which you can explore personal or difficult issues that you may be struggling with. I work in an Integrative way which means I use theories and concepts from different therapeutic models - recognising that you are an individual who needs a way of working with, that is individual to you and the issues you are presenting with.

I can work with you on a short-term solution focused basis, as well as an open-ended longer term basis to enable us to explore personal challenges at a deeper level. I work with young people and adults with a wide range of issues including stress, depression, anxiety, relationship problems, eating disorders, low self esteem. I am also an Oncology counsellor too.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
