About me

I offer medium and long term therapy to adults, children and young people both on line and face to face.

People seek out therapy for lots of different reasons and it can sometimes take time to feel safe enough and or trust enough to talk openly. Sometimes there are not the words.  My aim is to meet you where you are at so that you have the time and space to feel heard and met as you are.  Together we can explore the challenges but also seek to identify and build on your strengths.  My aim is to establish a warm therapeutic relationship and offer a safe space for you to share and explore what has brought you to therapy at a pace that feels manageable to and for you.

I am an experienced, qualified and accredited Integrative psychotherapist and Play and Creative arts therapist and as such can integrate creative, playful and expressive arts, such as art, sandtray, clay,  and imagery into my relational and developmental approach. I offer this in addition to talking, as another way of expressing and exploring feelings and making connections.

My therapy space is situated within a private garden, and as such offers opportunities for connections to nature.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have over 25 years experience of being alongside clients, providing therapeutic support to children, young people, adults and families, with a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences within multi-disciplinary settings, including local authorities, the voluntary sector and private practice. I am an accredited Integrative Psychotherapist, Certified Play and Creative Arts Therapist, Theraplay Practitioner,  Family Group Conference Coordinator, DDP informed Therapist and Trainee Clinical Supervisor.

I have provided therapy to young adults that are living away from home, in addition to children and parents within the field of post- adoption and to children looked after. I also have experience of working with child survivors of sexual abuse, and adults who have experienced complex trauma.

I have a special interest and experience in providing therapy to those clients impacted by their early attachment experiences, and/or developmental trauma, in addition to clients and their families that have been affected by an Acquired Brain Injury.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
