About me
Whether you're coming as an individual or as part of a couple, you might be feeling stuck, disconnected, overwhelmed, or simply unsure how to move forward. You may have a specific issue in mind, or just a sense that something isn’t quite right. Whatever brings you here, I offer a supportive, non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings openly, and feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood.
As a humanistic, integrative counsellor, I tailor my approach to you. I draw on a range of therapeutic tools to suit your unique needs, working collaboratively to help you make sense of your experiences, develop coping strategies, and find new ways forward.
For individuals
I work with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, anger, loneliness, low self-confidence, bereavement, and relationship or family difficulties. My focus is on helping you develop a deeper understanding and acceptance of yourself, creating the foundation for meaningful and lasting change.
For couples
I offer a safe and balanced space for couples to explore challenges within their relationship. This might include communication difficulties, conflict, loss of intimacy, or a sense of disconnection. I support couples who want to rebuild trust, reconnect, and strengthen their relationship.
If you're facing external pressures, such as work stress, financial strain, parenthood, family issues, or illness, we can work together to navigate these challenges and find ways to support both the relationship and each individual within it.
I offer a free 15-minute consultation by phone or online. This gives you the opportunity to share what you're looking for, ask any questions, and see whether working together feels right. If you decide to go ahead, we can arrange an initial session.
Taking the first step towards therapy can feel daunting, but I will do my best to make the process as comfortable and supportive as possible for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
- Registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)
- First Class Bachelor of Science in Humanistic Counselling - Middlesex University
- Diploma in Humanistic Counselling - Metanoia Institute
- Certificate in Business Communications - International NLP Trainers Association
As well as my private practice I work at a charity providing therapy for women who have experienced domestic abuse.
Prior to becoming a counsellor I worked in publishing for over 20 years across digital and print media. The experience of managing large teams gave me insight into how individuals interact and the patterns that emerge among groups. Throughout my publishing career I wrote many interviews and profiles of people, trying to understand the significance of their life stories, and this continues in my counselling work today.
I am also a published author and write regularly for Happiful Magazine on a range of issues around mental health and wellbeing.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
