About me
Hello and welcome to my profile,
My name is Avin and I am a registered and chartered practitioner psychologist with many years of experience within different settings. I have worked with clients from different cultural backgrounds presented with a variety of mental health challenges and difficulties. I emphasise on the importance of multicultural perspective in psychotherapy and counselling.
I am passionate about being a part of my client's recovery and healing process and to see them achieve relief from emotional, psychological, spiritual or relational pain. I believe that the therapeutic relationship is really at the heart of enabling change and progress. My clients tell me that they feel validated, understood and respected as I am warm, compassionate and sensitive to their needs and beliefs.
I work from an integrative approach employing humanistic, psychodynamic, and 'Third' wave cognitive and behavioural therapy modalities to tailor support around each person's specific situation and needs. Furthermore, I have methodological knowledge of trauma exposure methods, especially EMDR, trauma-focused cognitive behavioural therapy and Narrative Exposure Therapy.
Please feel free to visit my website www.rojtherapy.com and view my calendar and book a session that fits with your availability.

school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.
They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.
Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

Further information
I emphasise on the importance of multicultural perspective in psychotherapy and counselling. The aim of multicultural therapy is to address the concerns of clients whose race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, income, disability status, or other social factor(s) falls outside of the majority or outside the dominant social group.
