About me
I’m a integrative counsellor based in Birmingham.
Perhaps you’ve become very good at coping but underneath, you’re struggling more than people realise.
You might be used to keeping things to yourself, putting others first, or feeling that you need to be strong for everyone around you. You may be experiencing anxiety, low mood, stress, grief, low self-worth, or simply feel stuck and unlike yourself.
Whatever has brought you here, you don’t need to have everything figured out before starting counselling.
I offer a calm, warm and confidential space where you can be yourself without judgement or pressure. You can talk openly about what you’re experiencing, or we can take time to find the words together. We’ll work at your pace and explore whatever feels important to you.
I believe that being genuinely heard and understood can be deeply healing. My aim is to create a space where you don’t have to hold everything together or worry about being a burden, a place where you can begin to understand yourself with greater compassion.
I work integratively, which means I tailor counselling to you rather than following a one-size-fits-all approach. My foundation is person-centred, alongside psychodynamic and Gestalt influences. We might explore what you’re experiencing now, your relationships and emotional patterns, or experiences from the past that may still feel present today.
My approach is calm, down-to-earth and human. I don’t hide behind jargon or expect you to have all the answers. I’ll meet you where you are, and we’ll work together to understand what’s going on beneath the surface.
I have experience supporting people with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, stress, low self-worth, shame, difficulty expressing emotions, and feeling like a burden.
I also welcome clients from diverse cultural and faith backgrounds. I offer sessions in English, Urdu and Mirpuri, and have a particular interest in bilingual counselling and the ways language, culture and identity can shape how we experience and express our emotions.
Taking the first step can feel daunting, which is why I offer a free 15-minute initial consultation, with no pressure or obligation. It’s simply a chance to ask questions, share a little about what’s bringing you to counselling and see whether working together feels right for you.
You don’t have to wait until things become unbearable before reaching out. If you’ve been carrying things on your own for a long time, I’d be glad to hear from you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) accredited Foundation Degree in Integrative Counselling from Birmingham Newman University,a rigorous qualification that thoroughly combines robust therapeutic theory with extensive supervised clinical practice across multiple modalities. For the past two years, I have served in Placement and now as a Volunteer Counsellor at The Kaleidoscope Plus Group in West Bromwich Birmingham . In this role, I have actively applied integrative frameworks to support diverse client populations, honing my clinical assessment skills, deepening my professional empathy, and maintaining strict adherence to the BACP Ethical Framework.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
