About me
I am a humanistic integrative counsellor working in a person-centred model with individuals and couples.
I believe you, the client, are the real expert on yourself, but sometimes we need help and support to figure out how to move through/resolve or get more clarity on certain aspects in our lives. Together, we will work through the issues or problems that bring you to counselling.
I offer a warm, supportive and honest relationship in which we will talk about what you are struggling with, with interest and curiosity and without being judgmental. We will explore how you feel and what is really important to you. In this process, I help you understand who you are as a person beyond what your problems may be and work towards greater self-acceptance and insight. We will figure out the best way forward for you to either resolve or come to terms with what is troubling you and supporting you in getting to a place of emotional balance and clarity. This is always an individual and deeply personal experience.
I can help with issues including:
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Relationship issues
- Childhood abuse and adverse experience
- Identity and belonging
- Family relations
- Disability
- Sexual abuse, sexual assault and rape
Couples
I work with couples who experience difficulties and/or dissatisfaction in their relationship or want to prevent issues from arising in the first place. I facilitate communication and conflict resolution with the aim of a better understanding and acceptance of each other.
Your relationship is the primary focus of the work; this may entail looking at the patterns of how you relate to each other and how these patterns may, for each of you, have their roots in previous relationships or childhood experiences. This can be challenging work, but realising where some of these patterns stem from can be very helpful in understanding yourself and your partner.
I offer short term or long term counselling - either face-to-face or online - to suit your needs. I work Mon-Fri, including some evenings. I offer an initial trial session at a reduced fee.
All sessions are 50 minutes
- Fees for individual counselling - £55 per session
- Fees for couples counselling - £80 per session
I am a member of BACP and adhere to their guidelines regarding ethics and confidentiality. I have regular supervision to ensure the high standards of my work.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
I’m originally from Denmark, but now live in Bath.
I have an MA in Modern History and an MA in Human Rights. Before training to be a counsellor I have worked in different jobs with children, persons with disabilities and vulnerable adults and their families. I am particularly interested in how cultural and social structures and pressures are connected to our mental health. Before coming to the UK I lived many years in Germany and I have also previously lived in the USA and Chile. As well as English, I also speak Danish and German and offer sessions in those languages.
