About me
Sometimes we need to feel heard, accepted and understood. As a qualified Person Centred & Trauma Focused counsellor, I offer a welcoming safe space where you can talk freely and explore these feelings, whilst navigating a way to healing & self-development.
I do not believe that one size fits all. When working with my clients I adopt to different styles of therapeutic approaches to empowering my clients in bringing about the changes & growth they desire.
ABOUT ME
A caring, passionate and empathetic counsellor
I am a qualified Level 4 BACP Registered Humanistic Counsellor with experience in working with individuals, and groups of ages from 14 years old & upwards, inclusive of all sexual orientations, and cultural backgrounds. I am based in Southend & Colchester (Essex) and offer in person or online counselling.
The sessions belong to you and I’m here to listen. I’ll work with you to identify the main issues you have, help you clarify your thoughts and feelings and help you identify what changes you wish to make, either in short-term focused counselling/therapy or longer-term therapy.
Most of us, will at some point in our lives experience emotional or psychological challenges which can impact upon and limit the quality of our lives. Relationship difficulties or feelings 'stuck' in self-defeating/repeating unwanted patterns of behaviour, perhaps finding it hard to accept feelings around past/present/future life events, or strong emotions of anxiety, frustrations, anger, sadness or depression about life in general. In these situations, counselling and psychotherapy can be of benefit in offering a space where you can talk openly about yourself and be listened to and understood. Sometimes it’s hard to speak to family and friends as you don’t want to feel like a burden….. I’m here to listen and offer you a safe, non judgemental space to talk about your issues.
Finding a counsellor that is the right fit for you is very important as its about connection & establishing a sense of trust in a therapeutic setting. In turn this will help you to explore any past experiences and future concerns, which may be impacting your present-day decisions, and in the ways that you form and maintain relationships with others, and how you see, think and feel about yourself.
I run a private practice specialising in issues such as bereavement, trauma, complex PTSD, depression, anxiety, forms of abuse including childhood & domestic abuse, alcohol, substance misuse, and relationship difficulties.
Sometimes counselling can seem daunting but taking the first step and investing in yourself will make a huge difference to your life and the people around you. But, I can assure you the move to reinvest in yourself is a rewarding and worthwhile journey. Over the years I have had the pleasure to witness individuals change and evolve. Through courage & overcoming their adversities they have identified needs, emotions, and developed coping skills to manage and confront problems. Clients have then moved on to lead more meaningful lives. In collaboration with you, in a confidential setting this is a journey you can embark upon. I’m here to listen and I’m in your corner, so if you feel ready, please contact me to arrange your first session.
