About me
Hello and welcome,
My clients tell me that I am a warm, compassionate, and supportive counsellor and therapist. I work closely with adults of all ages, listening and understanding how they are struggling and need support, either due to one issue or incident, trauma, or a variety of reasons.
It might include relationship issues or challenges of another sort, but previous ways of managing things are no longer working.
I am optimistic and firmly believe it is never too late to make our lives better.
Specific issues I work with:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Anger
- Guilt and shame
- Relationship difficulties
- ADHD
- Autism
- Bereavement and loss
- Health concerns
- Life transitions
- Loneliness
- Self-esteem
- Personal growth
Choosing a therapist who is right for you:
It takes courage to commit to therapy. Choosing a therapist we feel comfortable with is vital for a successful therapeutic alliance.
My commitment to you is to provide acceptance in a private space where you will be heard and understood, closely and without judgment, disapproval or rejection. Together, in your time, we will work to find ways to best help you manage whatever is troubling you, to be the person you want to be.
The right time for you:
At times, we all feel lost, stuck, unhappy, scared, anxious, sad, angry, overwhelmed, guilty, depressed, or ground down. We cannot always pinpoint specific reasons to explain how we are feeling, which can make daily life difficult and isolating. We do not always want to share our troubles with family and friends, so therapy provides an opportunity to explore feelings and concerns confidentially.
How counselling helps:
Therapy helps us gain a clearer sense of ourselves, improve our self-esteem and connections with others. Mental and physical health are intrinsically linked, and working with a professional therapist will help make sense of how you are feeling. I can also provide strategies to help you manage your feelings outside the therapy room.
Please email for an initial phone consultation:
I offer a free 15-minute phone call in the first instance, to discuss any questions you may have and to get an idea of what you would like help with. Our first in-person session will be a paid assessment session to ensure I can help you and for you to see if you are comfortable working with me.
A consistent day and time each week is recommended. I work with an open-ended process and tailor the sessions for each client. Sessions are 50 minutes.
Before I qualified as a therapist:
Previously, I worked for many years here and overseas, and have a deep understanding of how stress, unhappiness and pain can impact us.
I have always been keenly interested in human behaviour and therapeutic psychology, which led me to qualify as a therapist.
I also volunteer for two charities supporting local vulnerable communities.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
