About me

Hi, I'm Anna, Clinical Psychologist, Compassion Focused Therapist and EMDR Therapist. Sometimes life can be challenging, and we all need some extra support to help us cope. This is where I can help, by offering a warm and collaborative space to help you better understand and manage your difficulties, working towards emotional wellness. I work with adults and teens with anxiety, depression, trauma, burn out, relational difficulties, low self-esteem, and high levels of guilt and shame. Having suffered with ME/CFS and Long Covid, I also specialise in working with people with chronic illness. I offer appointments nationally online and also in person in the North East of England. Training, qualifications & experience

I have a doctorate in Clinical Psychology (2009, distinction) a degree in Psychology (2002, 1st Class) and a PGCert in adult learning (2017, distinction.) I also have my advanced training in Compassion Focused Therapy, my Level 4 training in EMDR, and extra training in DBT, Mindfulness, CBT and Polyvagal theory. I have over 20 years experience working across the life span, supporting people with their mental health, both in the NHS and Private Practice. HCPC
Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

The HCPC are an independent, UK-wide health regulator. They set standards of professional training, performance and conduct for 16 professions.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

If a Counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

When working with people with energy limiting illnesses, I offer a ten minute break in the middle of the session and I also offer half sessions.
