About me
Experience: I have worked as a Gestalt counsellor and psychotherapist for 18 years and provide a robust, nurturing and non-judgemental space where self-awareness and growth can flourish. I am also passionate about my work with couples and have been working with them for 8 years. Having worked in private practice, in charities and in corporate organisations I have a wide range of experience working with a variety of issues and difficulties.
How I work: Working from a Gestalt perspective means I focus on the here-and-now in order to explore and understand what patterns may be stopping you from experiencing life in a more meaningful and fulfilling way. I work relationally, meaning I bring how I am experiencing and relating to you into the session. In this way we can build trust and connection and also explore the dynamics between us that may feel familiar to you. This helps us to unpick and understand more deeply your current -and past- relationship patterns. In this way my approach is rooted in helping you understand and redefine your relationship dynamics as well as your self talk, empowering you to embrace change and work towards a more fulfilling and balanced life.
What to expect from our first session: Our time will be focused on exploring what it is you'd like to get out of therapy - your expectations and hopes. I'll also want to get some background information about you, your current support system and some facts about your childhood. We'll talk more deeply about how I work and whether we would be the right fit. It really is important to find someone you resonate with, where you have a strong sense of: 'yes this person can help me'. This session should give you the answer to that and I encourage people to ask as many questions as they would like to.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
