About us
Hello and welcome. My name is Mashiyat and I am a humanistic integrative counsellor and founder of Anjum Therapy, offering counselling for adults both in-person and online in the UK.
I offer a collaborative and compassionate approach to therapy, supporting clients who may be feeling anxious, low in mood, overwhelmed by stress or burnout, experiencing difficulties in their relationships, or facing other personal challenges.
I recognise that each person’s experiences, needs and goals are unique, and I aim to work in a way that feels meaningful and tailored to you. As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches rather than following a rigid framework. This allows me to respond flexibly to individual needs.
I aim to create a safe, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions and personal challenges at your own pace. Therapy can support you in developing greater self-awareness, improving emotional wellbeing, and finding healthier ways to cope with life's challenges.
People come to therapy for many different reasons. You may be going through a specific life event, struggling with ongoing anxiety or depression, experiencing burnout, or noticing patterns in relationships that you would like to change. You may also simply feel that something does not feel quite right. Whatever brings you, therapy offers a space for reflection, growth and positive change.
I work with adults from diverse backgrounds and offer culturally sensitive, ethical and inclusive counselling that respects your individuality and lived experience.
I offer both short-term and long-term therapy, as well as fortnightly sessions where appropriate. Sessions are available in-person and online across the UK.
Low-Cost Counselling from £25
I am committed to making therapeutic support more accessible.
My low-cost counselling service offers the opportunity to access meaningful, professionally held therapy at a reduced fee.
Clients using this service are carefully matched with advanced trainee therapists who are undertaking recognised clinical training. Trainees work within clear ethical and professional frameworks and receive appropriate supervision to support safe and effective therapeutic practice.
This service is designed for individuals who may benefit from ongoing counselling but find standard private therapy fees difficult to manage. Our aim is to widen access to high-quality emotional support while maintaining a thoughtful and professional therapeutic environment.
Fees for low-cost counselling are offered on a sliding scale, taking into account individual circumstances and financial considerations.
Training, qualifications & experience
My training includes humanistic approaches such as Person-Centred Therapy, Transactional Analysis, and Gestalt, alongside Psychodynamic understanding and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I also hold an interest in existential perspectives within therapeutic work.
I hold an Advanced Postgraduate Diploma in Humanistic Integrative Counselling, and I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Member organisations *
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
