About me
Hi, I'm Angharad, I’m a holistic, trauma-informed therapist and fellow human, who works with adults offering face-to-face or online therapy. I am here to listen to and support you. I welcome you to come as you are.
We can all feel lost, stuck or overwhelmed at times. It’s important to know that you don’t have to be alone in these feelings, and every emotion you carry is valid. Whether you are seeking help with anxiety, depression, grieving a loss, or feeling misunderstood, know that all of you is welcome here.
We are all human and will face challenges in our lives, and as humans, we have the innate ability to heal. We each have the capacity for change, and with the right tools and support, we can make choices and take actions that will improve our lives, our health and wellbeing.
How can counselling can help?
Therapy provides a safe place for you to explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment. It offers an environment where you can feel held, heard and seen. It is a reflective space, that helps you see any issues you bring more clearly and address your concerns by exploring options, developing strategies and tools, and improving on intrapersonal skills such as self-awareness. All of which can help you navigate your immediate concerns and provide you with a tool kit to help with any challenges you may have in the future.
Reaching out:
I understand that reaching out for support can be daunting at first, especially when you may be feeling vulnerable or uncertain. You have taken the first step, and I will meet you there with empathy, compassion, and understanding.
My role as a counsellor:
I provide a safe, caring, and non-judgmental space, where you can openly explore whatever you choose to bring to the session in complete confidentiality. I have a professional but gentle and informal approach and my role as a counsellor is to listen to your concerns and provide the support you need.
How I work:
The relationship between client and therapist is at the heart of my therapeutic work. There is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ in therapy and I respect that your experiences and their meanings are completely unique to you. I work in a collaborative way, which means we can work together, at a pace that feels comfortable to you and tailor our sessions to meet your specific needs.
Mind and Body:
I recognise that the mind and body are interconnected and that they speak to one another. I work holistically, which means I view the person as a whole and consider the relationships between mind, body, and emotions.
My approach and qualifications:
I am a trauma-informed integrative therapist. This means that I am trained in and use a variety of therapeutic modalities including Person-centred (this is a client-led method which means I respect and value the client as the expert on themselves), Psychodynamic (this looks at patterns from the past and how they may be playing out in the future) and CBT (looks at how our thoughts and behaviours may be impacting our lives). I will work with you and use whichever modality or modalities work best for you and your needs.
Services that I offer:
I work with adults (18+).
I offer online counselling and in-person therapy depending upon your need and location. I am based in Chester.
I offer Rewind therapy for those struggling with PTSD symptoms including:
- flashbacks
- intrusive thoughts or images
nightmares - intense distress at real or symbolic reminders of the trauma
- physical sensations such as pain, sweating, nausea, or trembling
Get in touch and let me know how I can support you:
During our initial call, we can decide if we feel we are a good fit for each other, without any pressure to continue. A genuine, trusting connection allows you to feel safe, understood, and accepted as just as you are. If working together feels right for you then you know you are in the right place.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society This Not For Profit association of counsellors and psychotherapists aim to support the counselling profession, members and training organisations. In 2013 the NCS register was accredited by the Professional Standards Authority under the Accredited Voluntary Register Scheme. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
