About me

Hi, I’m Angela. I offer a warm, supportive space where you can talk freely and confidentially about your life without judgement. My holistic approach includes working with the mind, heart, body and spirit.

I work with a wide range of issues, including but not limited to: Anxiety, Work Related Challenges, Low Self-Esteem, Early Trauma, PTSD, Bereavement, Grief, Addictions, Anger, Menopause, Relationship Issues, Codependency, LGBTQ issues, Sexuality and Gender Identity.

I am a qualified therapist with a Diploma in Integrative and Transpersonal Counselling from ReVision Centre for Counselling & Psychotherapy in West London and am guided by the BACP Ethical Framework.

How Does It Work?

Whatever brings you to therapy is where we begin. This might be a transitional time in your life and you need support with that. Perhaps there are old memories you want to explore or maybe you want to work with what is happening for you right now. Therapy can sometimes be challenging work and we can do that together. It can also be immensely rewarding and life changing.

Our sessions will be a conversation between the two of us, focussing on the issues that are important to you, exploring where you are at and what changes are you hoping for. I sometimes work with images, visualisations, breathing exercises or body symptoms if that suits you. Most importantly we will work at the pace and in the way that works best for you.

Am I The Right Therapist For You?

It can be a daunting process choosing and meeting a new therapist and it is important to find someone you feel comfortable with. At the end of our initial meeting we can check in if we feel like a good fit.

I enjoy working with a wide range of people. My clients include people from diverse cultures, genders, sexualities, religions and faiths. I have experience of working with neurodiverse people including those with ADHD, dyslexia and OCD. I am an LGBTQAI+ affirmative therapist and welcome non-binary and trans clients.

I see clients in Shoreditch (E1) & Holloway (N7) and Online. We can work short-term (8-12 weeks) or long term (ongoing) and we can reassess as we progress. All sessions are 50 mins.

My Background

I have many years of experience in the arts as a performer, writer, director and creative facilitator. I also worked for the NHS and Justice system.  My various strands of work are always underpinned by my passionate commitment to collaboration, equality, diversity and inclusion. These experiences also inform my approach to therapy, I believe creative thinking can help when we get stuck in life, when we are finding it hard to change old patterns, when we need new blueprints for our lives.

My own experience of therapy was transformative. I believe it is a gift we can give ourselves to become the person we want to be, to make better choices and to reconnect us with hope, humour, passion and possibilities.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
