About me

Hello, I'm Amy,

I've been working from my private practice for over 7 years. Within my time as a therapist I have picked up over 2000 client hours, along with a wealth of knowledge and experience.

I offer a safe, welcoming, comfortable and confidential space, in which together, we can explore what's truly going on for you and the effect this may be having upon your life. I wholeheartedly believe that with a safe place to talk, a unique therapeutic relationship, learning the tools that will best suit your needs and the opportunity to feel not only listened to but truly heard, will create the pathway to lifelong changes and benefits.

I have a degree in Integrative Counselling, therefore, I am qualified in the 3 main approaches of person centred, cognitive behavioural therapy and psychodynamic. Essentially, this means I draw upon all three of these in order to offer you tailor made therapy to best suit your personal and individual needs.

We will work collaboratively, with you leading the way, and myself walking beside you, holding the space and facilitating your journey of new skills, self awareness and exploration and understanding.

Any questions at all, please do feel free to get in touch,

I look forward to hearing from you, and welcoming you into the Therapy Room either face to face or via zoom,

Warm wishes,

Amy

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
