About me

In the world we live in, there is often an expectation to show up as a capable, calm, and put-together version of ourselves. That can make it hard to know where to take the parts that feel messy, uncertain, or overwhelmed, or unsure what to do with the parts that don’t fit so neatly.

Therapy with me is a space where things can slow down and soften. As trust develops, there is room to move beyond the “representative” version of yourself and begin to notice who you are beneath it, what matters to you, and what you might be carrying. This work is shaped in the moment, guided by what feels most important or alive for you, and always at your pace.

In our sessions, we might find ourselves sitting with a mind that won’t switch off, a low or heavy feeling that’s hard to shift, or a sense of always having to work a bit harder just to keep up. We spend time getting to know these experiences together, not to label or fix them, but to understand how they’ve come to be and the direction you might want things to move in. Alongside care and support, part of our work may involve gently noticing the ways you've learnt to cope with life, whether they are still serving you, and which might be ready for updating. Therapy is relational, and that means I show up as a real person too, human, responsive, and occasionally punctuated by an f-bomb or two along the way.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a trained counsellor working from a humanistic and integrative perspective, drawing on attachment theory and an awareness of how early experiences can shape how we relate to ourselves and others. My approach is relational and responsive, grounded and informed by my training, while always shaped by the person I’m sitting with.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in line with their ethical framework. I attend regular clinical supervision as part of my practice to support safe and ethical work with my clients.

I bring over ten years of experience working with my clients, including supporting people navigating anxiety, low mood, neurodivergence, and questions around identity, belonging, and self-worth. I remain committed to ongoing professional development as I continue to grow as a practitioner.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

My fees range from £60–£80 per 50-minute session. Evening sessions are charged at £80, while daytime sessions are offered at a variable rate.

I offer a free initial consultation, giving us space to see whether working together feels like a good fit and for you to ask any questions before committing to therapy.

I also have a limited number of concessionary spaces available. I believe therapy should be financially accessible where possible, and I offer a sliding scale depending on individual circumstances. If cost is a concern, you’re very welcome to get in touch so we can talk about what feels manageable for you.

Accessibility, in every sense of the word, is important to me. I want you to feel comfortable, heard, and able to show up just as you are.

Further information

As a woman of colour, I bring an awareness of difference, identity, and belonging into the therapy room. I’m mindful of how culture, power, and lived experience can shape how people move through the world, and how they experience therapy. I aim to work in ways that question dominant assumptions about what is ‘normal’ or ‘healthy’, and that make space for different ways of understanding ourselves. I work with people from a wide range of backgrounds and identities, including people of colour, members of the LGBTQ+ community, people from working-class backgrounds, those with faith or spiritual beliefs, and anyone who has ever felt like they didn’t quite fit. I hold this with care and continue to reflect on it as part of my work.

Therapy with me is not one-size-fits-all. I work flexibly and creatively, shaped by what helps you express and explore what’s going on for you. Sometimes that might mean talking things through; at other times we might use metaphor, imagery, creative exploration, or even humour to make sense of experiences when words don’t quite come. The focus is always on finding ways of working that feel supportive and accessible for you.

I offer both online and in-person sessions, and a free initial consultation so we can see whether working together feels like a good fit.
