About me

Hi, I’m Amy, and I’m really glad you’re here.

If you’re reading this, there’s a chance you’ve been thinking about reaching out for some time. Perhaps you’re struggling with something that feels difficult to make sense of, or maybe you simply know that you don’t feel quite like yourself at the moment. Whatever has brought you here, it's important to you which means it's important.

I’m an MBACP Person-Centred Therapist, with a Master’s degree in Clinical Skills in Integrative Psychotherapy. At the heart of my work is the belief that you are the expert in your own life. My role isn’t to tell you what to do. Instead, I’ll work alongside you, offering a space where you can slow things down, make sense of what you’re experiencing and begin to understand yourself with greater compassion.

I aim to create a space that feels warm, genuine and free from judgement where you can talk openly and be yourself, without worrying about saying the “right” thing. Sometimes therapy is about making sense of what’s happening right now; sometimes it’s about looking back at the experiences that have shaped you and understanding how they continue to affect you today.

Although I work primarily from a Person-Centred approach, my additional training in Integrative Psychotherapy means that, where it feels helpful and you’re comfortable with it, we can draw on different therapeutic tools and techniques. We’ll always work collaboratively, at a pace that feels right for you.

Ultimately, my hope is that therapy gives you a place to feel truly heard and understood, while helping you reconnect with your own strengths, develop a deeper understanding of yourself and move towards a life that feels more fulfilling and authentic to you.

A little about my experience

I have over 10 years’ experience working within the mental health sector, providing a range of one-to-one support. I have particular experience working with young people aged 11–26, alongside my work with adults.

Throughout my experience, I’ve supported people with a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, identity and self-esteem, relationship difficulties, trauma and more complex mental health needs.

I feel genuinely passionate about helping people understand themselves, not just what they’re struggling with, but why they might be feeling this way and how their experiences have helped shape who they are today. I believe that having the opportunity to explore these things with someone who listens can be incredibly powerful.

If you’re wondering whether therapy might be right for you, you’re very welcome to get in touch. You don’t need to know exactly what you want to say or even be sure that therapy is the right thing for you. We can simply start with a free 20 minute chat and take it from there.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
