About me
ABOUT ME
I am a warm, kind and genuine counsellor. I have a gentle nature and demeanour and will always collaboratively consider your needs and what is best for you, ensuring you are heard.
I respect the trust a client puts in me when they open up and share their stories with me. I fully empathise with how painful it can feel not to have had or found that space previously. Or to have found that safe space or thought you had, only to have the safety net pulled away from you, for whatever the reason may be. Or perhaps you do have someone to talk to, but you’re still not getting from it what you need.
HOW I WORK
I have a strong, instinctive understanding of psychodynamic theory and practice; however, I work in an adaptive, supportive and thoughtful way.
In this talking therapy, I will explore with you your presenting problems, as well as your current and past experiences and relationships. Together we look at what patterns are emerging and the links we can make. This leads to an increased self-awareness and enables us to identify what lies behind the things you repeatedly struggle with. Bringing this into consciousness allows you to make different decisions and to develop new and healthier coping mechanisms and ways of relating going forward.
Our relationship is key to this. I offer a safe, calm, empathic and confidential space where you can share whatever you need to bring and show the parts of yourself you sometimes fear revealing. I offer both long and short-term therapy, which we can discuss at your initial session and get a feel for what has brought you to therapy and what you hope to achieve.
WHO I WORK WITH
I specialise in working with clients who have been harmed by relationships or circumstances, including but not limited to a previous counsellor, the education system, a healthcare setting or professional, and situations within the workplace.
I also work with a variety of clients who experience loneliness, low self-esteem, difficulty in relationships, emotionally abusive relationships, anxiety, depression, social anxiety, struggles with being assertive, troubles with accessing feelings, the strains of various carer roles and responsibilities, and anyone going through a loss or bereavement.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
