About me

We all go through periods in our life where we experience difficulties and struggle to find a way through. Counselling can help by giving support and a space to work through the challenges you face from a different perspective.

I believe that by working together we can explore your thoughts and feelings to look at things anew. I offer a warm, supportive, confidential and non-judgemental space where we can make sense of the challenges you face.

As a psychodynamic counsellor my approach is exploratory and reflective; thinking about how your past experiences may be influencing your current situation. In a sense, looking at things again in a fresh way, sometimes by going back to the beginning.

I have experience working with adults in a number of areas such as depression, anxiety, self-esteem, bereavement, loss, attachment and relationship issues.

Please do get in touch

I offer an initial free telephone assessment. Please do give me a call or email to set up an initial assessment where we can talk about what you would like to get out of counselling.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information

I offer an initial free telephone assessment. This allows me to assess your needs and to find out more about you. This is an opportunity for you to get to know me, how the process works and for us to discuss how we will move forward together.

Following the assessment, we will meet weekly for 50 minutes at the same time, on the same day each week. The number of sessions varies depending on your needs. I offer open-ended counselling which means sessions are on-going with regular reviews of how our work together is progressing. If more suitable, I can work in a time-limited way which means we would agree on a set number of sessions, focusing on a particular issue or problem you may be struggling with.

My fee is £50 per 50 minute session.
