About me

We all go through periods in our life where we feel sad, anxious or overwhelmed by our difficulties and struggle to find a way forward. I can help by giving support and a space to work through these feelings and look at any challenges you face from a different perspective.

As a psychodynamic counsellor my approach is exploratory and reflective; thinking about how your past experiences may be influencing your current situation. In a sense, looking at things again in a fresh way, sometimes by going back to the beginning.

I believe that by working together we can explore your thoughts and feelings to look at things anew. I offer a warm, supportive, confidential and non-judgemental space where we can make sense of things together.

I have experience working with adults in a number of areas such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, bereavement, loss, attachment and relationship issues.

Please do get in touch

I offer a free telephone consultation. Please give me a call or email to set up a time that is convenient for you where we can discuss your hopes and expectations for counselling.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Additional information

I offer an initial free telephone consultation. This allows me to assess your needs and to find out more about you. It is also an opportunity for you to get to know me, how the process works and for us to discuss how we will move forward together.

Following the consultation, we will meet weekly for 50 minutes at the same time, on the same day each week. The number of sessions varies depending on your needs. I offer open-ended counselling where sessions are on-going with regular reviews of how our work together is progressing. If more suitable, I can work in a time-limited way which means we would agree on a set number of sessions, focusing on a particular issue or problem you may be struggling with.

My fee is £60 per 50 minute session.
