About me
I am a BACP registered integrative counsellor based in Bromley, Kent offering both short or longer term counselling. This may be face to face or remotely. I have experience of working with a range of issues including anxiety, low self esteem, relationship difficulties, life stage transitions and I find the process of grief and loss is a common theme in my work.
My way of working
Life can throw us all sorts of challenges and I am aware that it can be daunting to take the first step towards seeking counselling but my hope is that you will experience a warm and sincere response from me.
I work integratively which means that I tailor my approach to work in a way which is best for you as an individual, believing in a strong counsellor/client relationship by providing a space where you can talk through any concerns you may have with no judgement, helping you gain a greater understanding of yourself and how you relate to others. I will be mindful of the issues you are bringing and will strive to understand your experience. Together we will work through your difficult thoughts and feelings and help you to make the choices and decisons that are right for you.
Who I work with
I work with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds. My current focus is with adults and young adults.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have a BACP approved Level 4 diploma in therapeutic counselling and am also trained in the Gerald Egan model for crisis intervention work.
I am practiced in the process of grief which I believe has a significant role in my work. I believe that any form of loss, not just bereavement can impact us greatly in so many aspects of our lives and that by acknowledging and understanding this process can bring acceptance and help us to make the right choices.
I have over 25 years experience in workplace crisis counselling intervention for a global airline, offering both telephone and face to face support and delivering understanding grief in the workplace courses.
Additionally, my experience extends to counselling in a secondary school setting, working as a foster carer for the London Borough of Bromley and am currently providing bereavement support voluntarily for St Christophers Hospice.
I engage in ongoing CPD and contiunue to be mindful of the changing world we live in and how this can manifest itself in the counselling room.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
