Dip. Couns. MBACP Counsellor

About me

I’m a fully qualified integrative counsellor supporting individuals, couples and other close relationships.  Though my client base is varied, I have extensive experience in sexual abuse, sexual violence and addictions.   I bring both professional knowledge and deep understanding to our sessions, working intuitively to meet your unique needs. My aim is to offer a space where you feel heard, supported, and respected — a space where you don’t have to hold everything alone.

Life can leave deep marks — You may find yourself feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or caught in patterns that once helped you cope but now feel hard to manage. Reaching out for support can feel daunting, yet it’s a powerful step toward reclaiming your voice, your choices, and your life.

Sexual Abuse & Sexual Violence

Experiences of sexual abuse or violence can touch every part of your life — how you see yourself, how you relate to others, and how safe you feel in the world.  The impact can show up in many ways: anxiety, numbness, shame, people‑pleasing, hyper‑independence, or coping patterns that once helped you survive but now feel out of balance.  We move gently and at your pace, exploring the emotional and relational impact of trauma. Nothing is too much here.

Also, supporting family members as you learn to adjust to the new world you find yourselves in.

Addiction & Dependency Support

Trauma and dependency often sit side by side. What begins as something enjoyable or soothing can gradually shift into a pattern that feels in control of you. Whether it’s alcohol, drugs, porn, gambling, social media or even anxiety, these behaviours can become ways of coping with pain, stress, or disconnection.

I support:

Individuals — exploring the roots of dependency, developing healthier coping strategies, and working with relapse prevention or reduction management.
Loved Ones — helping partners, parents, and friends understand the dynamics of addiction, reclaim themselves, and set healthy boundaries.
Couples — understanding how addiction acts like a third presence in the relationship, creating distance and shaping communication. Together, we work toward connection that isn’t overshadowed by dependency.

How I Work

Whatever brings you here, we’ll explore your world with curiosity and compassion — uncovering beliefs, patterns, and influences that may be shaping your life without you realising. I offer gentle challenges and thoughtful questions to help you reflect more deeply, opening up new perspectives and possibilities.

When the unconscious is brought into awareness, you gain the freedom to make choices that truly enrich your life and support your growth into the person you want to be.

Couples & Close Relationships Counselling

Relationships are complex, and when communication breaks down, the effects can be subtle but deeply felt. As a trained relationships therapist, I help you understand the unconscious dynamics influencing how you relate.

For couples whether you want to reconnect, explore polyamory, gain clarity about your future, or separate respectfully, I offer a space for honest exploration and meaningful change.

Separation Counselling

Ending a relationship can stir up grief, confusion, and practical challenges. I provide a safe, non‑judgmental space to explore these experiences with care and respect, supporting you as you move forward with clarity and confidence.

Working Together

Our work is guided by you — where you are now and what you need most. My aim is to offer a space where you feel safe enough to explore, discover, and grow at your own pace.

If you’d like to explore whether we’re a good fit, I offer a free 20‑minute consultation via Teams or WhatsApp.

Training, qualifications & experience

Alongside my private practice I work with a charity supporting clients whose lives have been affected directly or indirectly by sexual abuse or sexual violence.   The work is delicate as clients explore their new world and the myriad of emotions and challenges that it brings.

Extensive experience of counselling clients who have addiction/dependency issues.  I work at the client's pace as they explore their life's journey whilst developing, reinforcing healthy coping mechanisms.

Having been a project manager, I have experience of maintaining a calm environment where I make sure all voices are heard.  This skill is proving effective in my work with couples.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
