About me
I offer psychodynamic (also known as psychoanalytic) psychotherapy for individuals with a wide range of emotional and psychological issues from my consulting room in East London. My approach is based upon a belief that by becoming more familiar with deep and often unknown feelings we can better understand our present lives and make sense of difficulties and internal conflicts that may be causing problems for us.
I have extensive experience in NHS settings, charitable organisations and in private practice and I am focussed on providing compassionate and creative understanding of each person's life in order to provide meaningful relief from distressing emotional states, destructive patterns of behaviour, and problems in finding intimate or positive connections with others.
I have worked as a specialist psychotherapist in the areas of trauma, sexuality, and 'complex needs', meaning I come to this work with substantial experience of how to facilitate an enlivening and focussed psychotherapy process for anyone motivated to begin this daunting but immensely rewarding work.
Please do not hesitate to contact me to arrange an initial consultation where you will have a chance to experience how I work and for me to understand your hopes for therapy and if I may be a good fit to provide the help you are seeking.
Training, qualifications & experience
Alongside my private practice, I work as a specialist psychotherapist at Barking and Dagenham Psychological Services, an NHS clinic in east London. Previous to that, I worked for several years as a psychotherapist for the Waltham Forest Psychotherapy Service (also part of the North East London Foundation Trust), as well as the non-profit organisation, Mind in Brent, Wandsworth and Westminster where I supervised a team of support workers and facilitated reflective practice groups.

Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) is a professional association, representing the profession of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
The organisation is itself made up of fourteen member organisations and BPC accredits the trainings of its member organisations. An individual who qualifies from one of these trainings is then eligible for entry into the BPC's register.
BPC registrants are governed by a code of ethics, a policy of continuing professional development, a statement on confidentiality and a complaints procedure. The BPC is a Member Society of the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the Public Sector (EFPP). Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Additional information
The initial 90-minute consultation will cost £80 and will last for up to an hour and a half. This meeting is where we will discuss your reasons for seeking treatment and will also have a chance to explore any questions you have for me, as well as thinking carefully together about whether we are a good fit for what you need. My standard fee for a weekly 50-minute meeting is also £80. I hold a small number of low fee vacancies for those who are unemployed or of low-income status so please contact me if this is relevant to you to see if one of these might be available.
