About me

Welcome to my profile.   Here is how I can help and support you.

Alana Everest - Anxiety, Stress, Depression, Neurodiverse challenges, Relationship issues, Trauma, Grief/Loss, Low self-confidence and self-worth.

As a warm, friendly counsellor, I understand reaching out for help and support can seem overwhelming.  Especially if you have experienced not feeling listened to, valued or understood previously.  Experiencing life challenges, such as: anxiety, stress, trauma, depression, menopause, neurodiverse conditions, may leave you to experience unhealthy behaviours or even feel lonely.  Where you may feel stuck, vulnerable and lonely with uncomfortable emotions, thoughts and feelings.  Therefore, I am here for you with providing a safe, calm space, where you can speak freely and openly about your experiences, emotions and triggers.  Listening non-judgementally, I would help and support you upon your journey.   Working together, we would assess and explore your challenges at a pace that feels comfortable for you.  Along with exploring healthier coping strategies, such as breathing techniques, journaling, mindfulness and self-reflection that would enable you to begin to understand your self, your needs and your wants.  So that you can start to move forward positively upon your journey on the path that works for you.  Continuing to self-reflect, understand and work with your emotions, would allow you to become more self-aware and encourage you to break any negative patterns where you may feel stuck and uncomfortable.  As you begin working towards being your true self, setting healthier, positive goals and boundaries.  I have experience working with anxiety, stress, depression, ADHD, Autism, trauma, overthinking, grief/loss, relationship issues, menopause, low self-worth and self-confidence.  I offer face to face and online sessions, supporting and working with adults from 18 years onwards.  I am flexible with appointments offering early morning, day time and evening appointments.  I am accredited and registered with NCPS.

As a competent, empathetic, Pluralistic Counsellor, I understand reaching out for help and finding the right person could seem challenging and overwhelming. Therefore, during our Initial Consultation, I would listen, respect you, support and guide you in a warm, confidential, safe, non-judgemental environment.  Enabling you to share your reasons and expectations of therapy.  After, we would both assess whether it would be ethically appropriate for us to work together.  If we both feel I am not a suitable therapist, with your permission, I would help you to make a more appropriate referral.

I am passionate about providing support to individuals facing life’s challenges, supporting and guiding you through your journey towards growth, self-awareness, self-reflection and learning to connect with your emotions and feelings. The therapeutic journey would allow us to work together to unlock your potential and cultivate a life filled with meaning and hope whilst continuing to explore your journey positively towards self-actualisation.

What to expect in your first session:

During your first therapy session I would ask you some questions regarding your reasons for seeking therapy without giving judgements or solutions.  To gain a better understanding we would discuss your family history, symptoms and current state of mind.  This would allow us to acknowledge whether we are ethically suitable to work together and then plan how we would continue together using the appropriate approaches and goals that would benefit you.

I have experience counselling for a mental health charity working with 18-25 year olds listening, guiding and supporting them with self-reflection, self-awareness as they worked through their depression, worries, stress, anxiety.  Whilst exploring, recognising and assessing their triggers, connecting with their past challenges and then finding positive solutions, enabling them to overcome their difficulties.  Where they felt safe, empowered and hopeful.

I have extensive training and experience in various therapeutic modalities, including Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, CBT and REBT. I am committed to helping my clients achieve a holistic well-being.

How counselling may help:

Within my counselling practice, I offer a pluralistic approach, tailoring each session to meet the unique needs and goals of my clients. Whether you are struggling with anxiety, stress, depression, menopause, neurodiverse issues, grief/loss, feeling stuck or other mental health concerns.

My professional counselling practice provides an inclusive supportive and ethical environment, where you feel understood, valued and listened to. I will encourage you to explore your mind and well-being, in a non-judgemental safe space. As you begin to understand your past and present, whilst making connections with your emotions, thoughts, feelings and behaviours.  Enabling you to self-reflect, become self-aware as you positively set future goals and begin your hopeful healing journey.

Please feel free to connect with me to learn more about my services or to schedule an appointment.

I look forward to helping, supporting and working with you on your path to a hopeful, healthy well-being.
