About me

Hello and welcome.

Finding the right therapist can feel like a daunting process. Reading through profile after profile, it isn't always easy to know who might be the best fit. I hope this gives you a sense of who I am, how I work, and whether I may be the right therapist for you.

I am a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist and Senior Accredited Member of the BACP, working with adult individuals and couples. I offer both short-term and longer-term therapy from my practice in Washington, West Sussex, conveniently located just off the A24 between Worthing and Horsham.

I believe that therapy is about much more than simply reducing symptoms. It is an opportunity to understand yourself more deeply: your relationships, your emotional world, and the patterns that may once have helped you but now leave you feeling stuck, overwhelmed or disconnected. Together, we'll explore not just what's happening, but why it matters and what can change.

My core approach is Relational Transactional Analysis, an established psychotherapy that helps us understand how our early experiences shape the way we relate to ourselves and to others. Although this forms the foundation of my work, therapy is never about applying a model to you. Every therapeutic relationship is unique, and I work collaboratively, thoughtfully and at a pace that feels right for you.

Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, stress, loss, or simply have a sense that life could feel different, therapy can provide a space to pause, reflect and make sense of your experiences. Sometimes meaningful change can happen over a relatively short period; at other times, deeper and more lasting change develops through longer-term work. Together, we will build greater self-awareness, self-compassion and resilience, helping you move towards a more fulfilling and authentic life.

Alongside general psychotherapy, I have particular experience working with trauma and complex trauma, PTSD, suicide and suicide bereavement, relationship difficulties, neurodiversity, and LGBTQ+ clients. I have a particular professional interest in the psychology of hope, resilience and emotional development, and I continue to undertake advanced clinical training and professional development.

I am committed to providing a safe, respectful and non-judgemental therapeutic relationship where you can think openly, explore difficult experiences and feel genuinely heard.

I practise in accordance with the professional and ethical frameworks of the BACP and UKCP as well as international TA associations.

**I currently have 1 space left in a Supervision group meeting Monday morning once a month in RH20**

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
