About me

Hi, I’m Aishah. I’m a psychotherapist working with Transactional Analysis (TA). I offer a warm, respectful, and culturally sensitive space to explore anxiety, depression, identity, trauma, family patterns, and generational trauma.

As a British Pakistani woman, I understand the complexity of living between cultures and the impact of silence, shame, and the pressure to conform. You might feel like you’re always holding it together for others while feeling lost, low, or overwhelmed inside.

I work relationally and at your pace, supporting you to make sense of anxiety or depression within the wider context of your life and relationships. Together, we can explore what’s been weighing on you, help you reconnect with yourself, and build a life that feels more grounded, freer, and more aligned with who you are.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a qualified Transactional Analysis (TA) psychotherapist with a Master’s degree in Psychotherapy. My training focused on relational depth work, attachment, unconscious processes, and how early experiences shape adult patterns of relating.

I work with adults experiencing:

  • Anxiety and depression
  • Low self-esteem and self-criticism
  • Relational and attachment difficulties
  • Identity concerns, including cultural and religious identity
  • The emotional impact of family, cultural, and generational expectations
  • Loss and bereavement
  • Long-standing patterns of emotional suppression and people-pleasing.

My approach is trauma-informed and relational. I draw on Transactional Analysis concepts such as ego states, life scripts, injunctions, and relational dynamics, alongside grounding techniques and psychoeducation, to support emotional regulation, insight, and self-understanding.

I have particular experience working with neurodivergent clients, including those with ADHD and autism, as well as clients who experience hoarding behaviours. I aim to work at a pace that feels safe, collaborative, and respectful of each client’s lived experience.

Alongside private practice, I have worked within women’s counselling services and community settings, supporting clients from diverse cultural, religious, and social backgrounds.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information

I offer a thoughtful, compassionate space where clients can explore their inner world without judgement. I am especially mindful of how culture, faith, gender, power, and social context can shape emotional wellbeing and relationships.

As a British Pakistani Muslim therapist, I bring an awareness of cross-cultural dynamics and the complexities that can arise when navigating family expectations, identity, and autonomy. I welcome clients from all backgrounds and value open, honest conversations about difference where this feels relevant and helpful.

Sessions are collaborative and reflective, with space for both emotional depth and practical insight. Therapy with me is not about “fixing” you, but about understanding yourself more fully and creating choices that feel more aligned and self-compassionate.
