About me
Whatever your reason for starting therapy, whether you are feeling anxious or depressed, dealing with a major life event, seeking clarity, or simply wanting to know yourself better, I’m here to walk alongside you and listen. Therapy is a collaborative journey that draws on the healing power of genuine human connection. I offer a safe, judgment-free space where you can be truly seen and heard. My approach draws on humanistic principles that emphasise empathy, presence, and respect for your unique life experience. I am committed to seeing you as a whole person, not as a set of symptoms or a label.
We'll discuss the issues that are important to you at a pace you're comfortable with. Therapy allows you to explore who you are at your core, reflect on how your experiences in life shape you in the here and now, also how you relate to the world. Deeper self-awareness will help you make meaningful, authentic choices about how to live, allowing you to achieve your true potential. Choosing how to live can be empowering, even in dark times.
You may be feeling anxious about starting therapy. This was my experience. I understand it can take real courage to take the first step. Therapy can be difficult and challenging but it can also be transformative. In my case it led me to train as a therapist.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Humanistic Psychotherapeutic Counselling from the University of Brighton. I have gained wide experience through my private practice, also in my work as a therapist for Macmillan Cancer Support and Martlets Hospice in Brighton. Some of the areas I work with include anxiety and depression, low self-esteem, neurodiversity, family and relationship problems, men’s issues, self-harm and suicidal thoughts, cancer and chronic illness, end-of-life, bereavement and loss. I'm interested in how stress in the workplace impacts our emotional and physical well-being. I see adult clients of all genders, sexualities, ages and ethnicities. I support equality, diversity and social justice in my practice.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
