About me
Hello, I'm Aedemur. Thanks for visiting my page.
We all face our unique journey and encounter struggles in life which can sometimes feel overwhelming. Counselling can offer a supportive space, one that is warm, non-judgemental and confidential - where you can explore difficulties with care and understanding. I believe you already possess many of the inner resources needed to navigate these challenges.
My goal is to work collaboratively with you, helping you to make sense of your experiences so you can clarify the issues you face and deepen your understanding of yourself. This process can open the door to positive transformation and personal growth. I am experienced in helping people with issues of anxiety, stress, self-esteem, anger, people-pleasing and boundaries, self hatred, childhood trauma, abuse, depression, relationship problems, personal development, grief and loss and mood and personality disorders.
I specialise in Integrative-Relational counselling, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches such as Psychodynamic, Person Centred, Internal Family Systems and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. This flexible approach allows us to tailor our work together to meet your individual needs.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a graduate of Middlesex University with a BA (Hons) in Integrative-Relational Counselling and a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I abide by their Ethical Framework for Good Practice.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
Choosing the right counsellor can be daunting and I believe it's important to have the right "fit" for you. I strongly believe the relationship between client and counsellor is an important part of our work. I offer an initial 15 minute telephone conversation free of charge and obligation so we can establish how we might work together, we can then select how we might move forward:
Face to face: I have a setting in Walton On The Hill where I offer weekly face to face sessions. There is free parking available or it is accessible by the 460 bus route.
Online sessions: I work on Zoom, but I am happy to work on other platforms so long as we can ensure it is appropriate for security and confidentiality.
Walk and talk: I offer walk and talk therapy which blends physical activity with the therapeutic process. This requires appropriate clothing for the outdoor setting.
