About us

“For when life feels challenging & you need support to find some balance"

ACT Counselling & Wellbeing Ltd was set up by two qualified and successful counsellors, who are striving to make therapy accessible to everyone. We do this by offering low-cost counselling sessions which are charged at a flat-rate of £25 with our trainee counsellors. The trainee counsellors are supported and mentored by the qualified counsellors as well as being supported by their training providers and supervisors. Trainee counsellors are only able to work with clients once they have been assessed as fit to do so by their training provider.

We can help you navigate a range of issues such as anxiety, depression, work-related stress, relationship struggles, bereavement, traumatic events, and everyday worries. Talking to someone who is non-judgemental, compassionate and understanding, and who is being trained to help people like you, could really help you to make sense of things.

Our therapy centre is near the centre of Keighley and so is in easy reach of buses and trains. If driving then free on-street parking is available for up to an hour and there are many car parks nearby. If you are unable to travel to us then we also offer sessions online and over the phone for the same fee.

We aim to provide a centre that is warm and welcoming and where you can feel comfortable. We have a waiting area on the ground floor and our therapy rooms are located upstairs. The building is only used by counsellors so consideration and privacy can be assured. Our counsellors photos can be found in the photo section below along with photos of our counselling rooms.

Currently we do not have a waiting list so depending on when you are available we may be able to see you straight away.

Training, qualifications & experience

Our qualified counsellors are both successful in private practice and between them hold the following qualifications:

  • MA in Integrative Counselling
  • Levels 3 & 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling
  • Undergraduate degree in Psychology & Counselling (1st class honours)

Our trainee counsellors are currently being trained in recognised counselling courses across various training establishments.

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
