About me

Imogen Ellis-Jones   Couples' & Individual Counsellor and Supervisor (Advanced Dip Couns MBACP). Dip Sup. MNCS (Accred) DC Hyp. (MNRAH)Lic ASK

(I now offer face to face, online, telephone and Skype appointments and concessions for low income groups and key workers)

As an experienced Couples' & Individual Counsellor and Supervisor I cover all issues with compassion and empathy in a comfortable setting in Farnham. Additionally I work with children using sandplay which helps to uncover hidden issues arising at home or at school. I offer an initial free phone consultation where we will chat briefly about your situation and then, on our first appointment, we will discuss setting up a 6 session contract which can be extended should we feel it necessary.

Couples/Relationship Counselling :-

Are you frightened of bringing up a sensitive subject with your partner?
Does it seem as though your partner isn't listening?
Your conversations seem to just go round and round in circles.
You have only been talking a short while but suddenly you are both in the middle of a shouting match.
You feel more frustrated at the end of a conversation than the beginning.
One of you can't stop crying and the other disappears in a huff.

Couples’ Relationship Counselling will help both of you to understand the nature of your problems. We will improve your communication skills and find effective ways of discussing and dealing with your difficulties and differences.

Individual Counselling :

Sometimes when we are feeling low or depressed we need to talk but may not feel that sharing personal thoughts with friends or family is appropriate. Perhaps we do not feel ‘heard’ by our loved ones or maybe they haven’t the time to listen.

Can you imagine, I wonder, how it would feel to be able to talk, without fear of being judged, to someone who will listen and empathise for as long as is necessary until you feel you have control over the problem in hand? A skilled Counsellor will help you to improve communication, resolve a crisis and deal with negative behavioural patterns by listening and talking in confidence as you work through the problem.

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration.
