About me

I have worked as a psychotherapeutic counsellor and Supervisor for the last 20 years and have a great deal of experience working with individuals, couples and groups.

I have worked for Mind, drug and alcohol rehabilitation services and was Co-Founder of a counselling centre where I worked as the clinical lead for 11 years, setting up and managing the low cost counselling service for the local community.

I offer confidential counselling for couples, adults and young people, enabling you to make the right choices for you and your future in an atmosphere of calm and tranquility. I am also trained in PTSD and trauma and can help with flashbacks and phobias.

I also provide a low cost service for those who are unable to pay full fee for whatever reason, this is £30 a session and provided by trainee counsellors who are fully supported and supervised.

Please feel free to contact me to see if I am the right person for you or can provide a service you can afford, it is important for you to ask whatever questions you have and I'll be happy to answer them.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a diploma in Person-Centred therapy, a BSc (Hons) in Integrative psychotherapeutic counselling, a PG diploma in clinical supervision and a certificate in couples counselling.

I am also trained in and have extensive experience of PTSD and trauma, enabling me to help you with flashbacks, phobias and anxiety in all areas of your life.

I am a registered member of the BACP.

I am trained in mindfulness and integrate this into my practice when and if it’s agreed by you and appropriate for your healing.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
