Testimonial:

I was at a low point feeling very lost and searching for a bit more purpose and focus in my life when a friend suggested I talk to someone and recommended Viv. After an initial consultation, I started to work with Viv and she helped me to stop going in circles and pinpoint what was holding me back and what I wanted to do going forward. It has made a huge difference in my life and friends/ colleagues have commented that I seem so much happier and more settled since going through the empowerment programme. It hasn’t been a magic, quick fix to resolve all of my issues, in a way it has been better than that as it has given me more self- awareness and tools to notice when I am slipping into negative patterns or letting my fears get the better of me. This is amazingly helpful and something I hope to keep doing whenever I struggle in the future. I’d recommend Viv to anyone, she’s very good at reading people and tailoring her approach to what is right and will help you most.

Viv brought me back from the brink, I was existing not living, I couldn't function life was numb I was there but not there. I had no confidence I couldn't concentrate the lights were on but no one was home. Through empowerment I can hear the birds sing, Hear the breeze through the trees, hear my children laugh, see my wife smile communicate my feelings with out breaking down, coping with difficult situations. There's still a long way to go but instead of giving up on life I can embrace it and be apart of it. Thank you Viv.

Testimonial:

Thank you so much Viv I now get empowerment - it has changed my life into what I never dreamed was possible - I now understand what it means to be my own person - to not go along with everyone else - but to ask myself what do I want - you were so patient - and no matter how many times I spoke about the same topic - you helped me to look at it from a different angle - I felt so comfortable working with you from day one - you never judged me - so easy to talk to and I will miss our sessions - but I am fine now and looking forward to my future and discovering this person who was always there - but I had forgotten about.- I would highly recommend Viv

Testimonial:

After having spent the majority of my childhood being bullied by peers and people close to me, I went through my life in self-denial, taking on everyone else's problems. After a broken relationship, I became very depressed and relived a lot of my past experiences. I came to the Counselling Directory to find a Counsellor close to my home and I found Viv.
Viv has helped me to completely turn my life around - I have gone from a painfully shy, self-effacing woman to someone who now knows the value of herself and who is now living her life for herself. Viv has taught me that the past can be dealt with and dealing with it gives you strength and clarity. Making contact with my counsellor was the best decision that I have ever made and I would recommend Viv to anyone.

Testimonial:

I was in search of a Counsellor near to my home.  I didn't really know what to expect as I had seen others in the past and felt that their styles of counselling wasn't moving me forward.  On meeting Viv, I knew that I had found a Counsellor that would really help me.  At the outset she explained the methods of counselling she would be using and although I was apprehensive at first about facing my issues head on, the work that Viv did with me fully prepared me for things I never thought I would be capable of achieving.  I have so much to thank her for – I have become a much stronger person who has faced her fears.  I feel euphoric and am now able to move forward with my life and put the past behind me.

Testimonial:

Looking for a Counsellor I was drawn to viv's profile. At the first session, Viv explained to me exactly what I could expect from counselling. I didn't know what to do with my anger it was ruining my life and relationships, I hated the world and everyone in it. Viv has an uncanny intuition, she opened up a completely different side to me I had never known. It was hard work and I had to be honest with myself, but it changed my life for the better, the work Viv did with me saved my marriage and even improved my business, and I can never thank Viv enough for helping me.

Testimonial:

I wish i had done this years ago, i wasted so long telling myself i could cope, then someone recommended Viv. I even put off telephoning her for weeks because i didn't think anyone could help me with my depression, stress and anxiety. Viv is so easy to talk to and each week i learnt more about myself and began to see the old me leaving and the true me emerging. I didn't know anything about empowerment therapy - but Viv explained it to me so i always felt in control. I have made changes to how i see my life today compared to how i did - and gone further than i ever thought i could in both my career choices and relationships - this was the best investment i have ever made.

Inspiring, thought provoking and empowering! Love reading this book written by a talented and experienced therapist. It is something that I can read over and over again and will take something different from it each time. Looking forward to the next book!

Thank you Viv for this gift of a book! Empowerment therapy has truly changed my life and the 49 tools within the book serve as a great reminder, helping me to refocus when I deviate from my path.
This book is thought provoking, helps to gain clarity and insight into the self, whilst really enabling you to focus on the importance of taking care of you and getting the most out of your life.
I have recommended 49 tools to friends and family, and whilst reading considered many people in my life that I feel could benefit from reading it. Empowerment is for everyone and should be shared and shouted about! I can't recommend it enough.
I know I will read this book over and over, it's easy to navigate and boosted my positivity no end as I am reminded of how far I have come and where I am headed.
I look forward to the second in the series as I continue on my empowerment journey.

When you are looking for help and nothing seems forthcoming, you need assistance to focus upon the importance of living and how to attain emotional peace and strength then I've found the 49 tools is the book to keep by the bed. In the depth of night when hopelessness stops the sleep from coming, and I've browsed every handy kitchen gadget available on the internet, I've found solace in the easy to read positivity of this book, then in the morning my nights pick of the 49 tools, (emotional not gadgetry!), are there, ready to pick up and use in day to day living! It's like magic!! All the kitchen gadgets arrive a week later and I wonder what I was thinking when I ordered them!! Seriously for me at least the authors approach seems to really work, I hope it would for you too as anyone seeking assistance of this nature has my heartfelt compassion. Long live positivity and empowerment.

Thank you Viv for your insights. Reading your book has been a life changer. Everyone should read it at least once, but I suspect they will find, as did I, that you will do so and keep doing so as you continue to develop your skills and self awareness. It was so good that I donated my copy to a friend and bought a second copy. In my view, Empowerment Book of Forty Nine Tools should be made part of the school curriculum.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
