About me
I can offer you a free 20 minute introductory call. The therapy session can either be online or face to face at my office in the house, or as it was in time of the pandemic in my outside heated space.
Talking can help to unravel problems of life and relationship, taking the plunge to speak to an old stranger might feel a bit scary, but my first task is to help you feel at ease. In no time at all you'll be able to say what you like, what's on your mind and hopefully work out a clearer way of seeing the world
I an not a therapist who sits silently nodding from time to time. I clarify and ask questions. I think that therapy is a special conversation co-created, but led by you, it is a therapeutic conversation.
I have had 6 years of therapy training but many years of relationship and life experience.
I look forward to meeting you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a UKCP registered therapist, and supervisor, with a diploma and advanced diploma in existential psychotherapy and two years of humanistic training. Before that I had seven years of training in Fine art.
Music and painting are important to me and part of my work as a therapist to help examine my clients life balance.
I can be found on the UKCP and Society for Existential Analysis Websites.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
In September 2020, I opened the Inside Out Therapy Room, a covered, heated outside area for face to face therapy: a safe alternative to working online. I have an entrance directly from the park behind my house. But I now use an office at my address unless you want to specify differently.
