Supervision details

I am an experienced therapist and over the past 14 years I have gained a broad range of experience working with a diverse range of clients in a variety of settings. I run a busy private practice and also work within the NHS and with voluntary sector organisations. In addition I offer corporate trainings as well as trauma consultancy services to public sector organisations..

My core training is in Humanistic and Integrative therapy, which offers a Person Centred relational approach alongside an integration of other modalities including Psychodynamic. Since my original training I have expanded my integration to include CBT, IFS, Solution Focussed, Cognitive Analytic and Jungian approaches. I am also a fully qualified EMDR Therapist and trauma specialist working with TFCBT, Body Work, Mindfulness and IFS approaches to resolving trauma. I have additional specialist training in addiction and addictive behaviour and I am familiar with working with individuals, couples and in group settings and with both short term and long term work.

As an integrative supervisor I am able to work using a specific approach (eg CBT, or Person Centred) or with an integration of approaches to suit each supervisee individually.

I strive to bring to my supervision practice the qualities I have found so valuable in my own supervision, including positive regard and respect, honest supportive constructive feedback, insight, a sound knowledge of therapeutic skills and of multiple modalities, creativity and personal validation as well as good humour along the way. My aim is to support you fully in your own style and approach to client work and to help guide and support you through the inevitable challenges of therapeutic practice as well as with your ongoing development as a practitioner.

Initial Session:  I offer an initial 50 minute consultation session, which is free of charge and without obligation. During this session I will answer any questions and gain an understanding of your approach, client base and work settings. We will also discuss any supervision needs or expectations that are important to you and together, we will look at how we could work effectively and collaboratively to support your work.

Further Sessions:  I am currently offering a limited number of spaces at a reduced rate (£30 per session, on a first come first served basis) whilst studying for an Advanced Diploma in Relational Supervision.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
