This workshop is aimed at counsellors, psychotherapists, psychologists and psychiatrists working with young people experiencing anxiety. The day is designed to highlight and summarise the key concepts in supporting young people to overcome and fight back against anxiety. The main model discussed throughout the day will be cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT). You can also expect to briefly discuss other approaches, including solution-focused therapy and other evidence-based models.

Throughout the day you will have the opportunity to discuss the theory behind CBT, practice using CBT techniques and adjusting the use of CBT to working with young people. The day will include plenty of space for questions and discussion throughout.

Dr Ben Weiner is a chartered clinical psychologist working in both the NHS and private. He also works as a facilitator for reflective practice groups and supervises and teaches trainee clinical psychologists. He has extensive experience working with children, adolescents and their families and has specialised in this field, gaining experience in a variety of settings (inpatient, outpatient, community settings etc.).
