The pain of attachment injuries, chronic and acute trauma can stay alive indefinitely, causing and exacerbating depression, anxiety and relationship problems. The day will cover:
- Definitions of trauma and its presentation.
- The relationship between trauma and grief.
- Types of trauma.
- The effects of trauma and grief on the individual and couple.
- Recognising post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and when to refer.
- Therapeutic interventions.
- Self-care and competency.
The day includes refreshments and a light lunch.
