Unresolved grief and trauma

The pain of attachment injuries, chronic and acute trauma can stay alive indefinitely, causing and exacerbating depression, anxiety and relationship problems. The day will cover:

• Definitions of trauma and its presentation.
• The relationship between trauma and grief.
• Types of trauma.
• The effects of trauma and grief on the individual and couple.
• Recognising post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and when to refer.
• Therapeutic interventions.
• Self-care and competency.

The day includes refreshments and a light lunch.
