Counsellor Profile

I am an experienced counsellor (1998)and supervisor (2001). I am based in south Manchester with easy road links from the city centre, M60/M56 and surrounding areas. There are also regular bus services to/from: city centre, Altrincham, Ashton-u-Lyne, Bolton, Chorlton, Didsbury, Levenshulme, Longsight, Sale, Stockport & Wythenshawe. I trained in Person Centred Counselling although I now work in an integrative manner, using various tools to benefit individual needs. I will consider making home visits as long as certain conditions can be guaranteed and my fee will reflect additional travelling time/cost. I also teach various levels of counselling at a college in the Manchester area and facilitate workshops.

Training, Qualifications & Experience (more info)

Advanced Diploma in Counselling (1998)
Diploma in Casework Supervision (2001)
Certificate in Sexual Minority Therapy (2008)
Advanced Certificate in CBT (2008)
I am a member of the BACP and an Affiliate Member of the Institute for Learning

Areas of counselling I deal with

  • Abuse
  • Anger Management
  • Anxiety
  • Bereavement
  • Bullying
  • Depression
  • Low Self-Confidence
  • Low Self-Esteem
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Phobias
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Relationship Issues
  • Sexuality
  • Stress
  • Trauma
  • Work Related Issues

  • Other areas of counselling I deal with

I have much experience working with sexual minority groups - sexual orientation, cross dressers, transvestites, transsexuals, BDSM etc. I work with people in a sexual minority to help them accept and embrace their sexuality. I also have several clients come to discuss sex in their relationship.

    Fees

I do not operate a fixed fee, rather I prefer to negotiate a fee individually to reflect a person's income but would usually anticipate something in the area of £25-£50. I am willing to negotiate reduced fees for people on low income/benefits. I would expect home visits including travelling time/cost to be reflected in the fee.
