Supervision details
I have been offering supervision to counsellors and psychotherapists since 1998. I have a Diploma in Supervision from WPF ( 2002).I have an Advanced Diploma in Psychodynamic Counselling (1995) and am qualified as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist ( 2007), registered with BPC.As a qualified teacher and trainer I have a particular interest in working with trainees and especially those who are seeking to deepen their understanding of the integration of theory and practice.I have experience of working with both groups and individuals. My training is psychoanalytic, but I have worked successfully with counsellors who have trained in other models and who are interested in developing their understanding of the psychodynamic approach. I also offer supervision to qualified counsellors and psychotherapists in my private practice. My fee is from £65.00 per 50 minute session. Supervisees usually attend sessions weekly, fortnightly or monthly depending on their work load. My consulting room is situated in my house.
The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) is a professional association, representing the profession of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
The organisation is itself made up of fourteen member organisations and BPC accredits the trainings of its member organisations. An individual who qualifies from one of these trainings is then eligible for entry into the BPC's register.
BPC registrants are governed by a code of ethics, a policy of continuing professional development, a statement on confidentiality and a complaints procedure. The BPC is a Member Society of the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the Public Sector (EFPP). Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
