About me

Hi there,

Do you feel overwhelmed?

Is anxiety or depression preventing you from living the life you want?

Have you lost your spark and do you feel like you are running on empty?

Well let me help. I am Julie, a women’s counsellor and health and wellbeing coach, committed to helping you begin the journey towards feeling good, living life with more joy, meaning and fulfilment. I am passionate about helping women in all stages of life, from young adulthood to retirement, to feel happier, more confident and empowered in their lives.

I will provide you with a caring, safe and nurturing space where you can share what is troubling you and we can work together to help you make changes in your life that feel right to you; to lessen anxieties, boost confidence and live life with more joy, meaning and purpose.

I am an Integrative Counsellor, which means I use a range of different counselling models to best suit the individual needs of my clients. I use some CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) techniques, Solution Focused work as well as Mindfulness and Present Moment approaches. It all depends on your needs and which approach I feel will be a good 'fit' for you.

I regularly work with anxiety, depression, self-harm, bereavement, relationship issues, eating disorders, poor body-image and anger management. Low self-esteem and poor confidence are areas in which I have a particular interest. If you hold yourself back in life because of these issues I might be able to help. I have a lot of experience in helping women boost their self-esteem and feel more confident. This is where my training as a health and wellbeing coach can help you. I will encourage, inspire and empower you to improve your life and achieve your goals.

We will look at your current thought patterns and beliefs, and the impact they are having on how you feel and live your life. Often we are stuck in old stories about ourselves and our lives - "I'm too old for change", "I'll never lose this weight", "My marriage is dull". Thoughts are powerful and shape how we live. If you want to live as a healthy, vibrant, joy-filled woman, then let's change the script. What do you want to be true about your life? How do you want to think and feel about yourself?

You have more power than you think to design your precious life on purpose. You have to be deliberate and ready to embark upon this exciting journey and I want to be right there alongside you, cheering you on.

So if you are ready to start living now as the woman you yearn to be, let me help you. We will explore mindset and the power of thoughts, physical and emotional health, stress management, goal-setting and so much more.

If you think counselling or coaching, or a mix of both, might be right for you, I would love the opportunity to work with you and offer the support, empathy and encouragement you need as you begin the process of making changes, moving forward and becoming the best version of yourself.

You matter. Your health and happiness matters. It is time to make yourself a priority. Please get in touch.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
