About me
I’m Zoe a BACP-registered integrative counsellor and psychotherapist. I offer online and telephone sessions from my home therapy room, and in-person sessions from practice rooms in Newcastle-under-Lyme and Sandbach, Cheshire.
Life can be overwhelming. You may have been keeping yourself afloat, and then something happens which can result in feeling like your losing control and yourself in the process.
It may be the first time you’ve sought help, or you may have previously accessed counselling. Either way, my aim is to create a calm, safe and confidential space for you to explore what might be coming up for you and to better understand yourself.
As an integrative counsellor, I draw on several counselling approaches which are tailored to meet your needs. This means we’ll work collaboratively to find the best approaches to support your objectives over the time we work together. Some of the approaches I draw on include person-centred, psychodynamic, narrative, attachment and CBT.
Introduction call
I offer a 20 minute introduction call to see how we could work together. Please get in touch to confirm a time.
Training, qualifications & experience
I hold an MSc in Psychotherapeutic Counselling.
I follow the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Ethical Framework, which I am a member and undertake regular supervision and training. I am fully insured.
I have undertaken research in support for carers, spouses and partners of people living with long term health conditions.
As part of my training I worked as part of a GP based counselling team and with a hospital staff counselling service.
I also work as a researcher and consultant within charity and public sectors, drawing on my background in corporate communications and business development.
Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
