About me
Who do I work with?
I work with a wide range of diverse needs and people, but particularly those struggling with anxiety, self-doubt, poor self-esteem and the feeling that they are just not good enough.
Many of the people I work with find themselves feeling constantly anxious - worrying about what other people think of them, trying to keep everyone happy or believing they are flawed and not good enough. They are often exhausted and frustrated that they can't find a way to break free from this.
My work focuses on helping clients build a stronger, healthier relationship with themselves - learning to understand their feelings and why they behave as they do. To start to trust themselves and to give themselves permission to live in ways that feel more genuine and self-directed.
How can counselling help?
Many of the ways we think, feel and behave developed as ways of staying safe, connected or accepted as we grew up. These weren't always conscious choices, and often beyond our control.
However, when something works once, our minds tend to hold on to it. The more often a behaviour is repeated, the more likely it is to become a default reaction.
Counselling offers a space to gently explore these patterns and understand where they came from. It is this understanding that offers the possibility for change.
Whilst we can try to do this ourselves, counselling offers a uniquely non-judgemental, empathetic space to explore what is holding you back from living fully as you.
What is the goal of counselling?
I believe every person has intrinsic value regardless of their background or lived experience.
This work is not about ‘fixing’ yourself. It is learning to feel comfortable in your own skin no matter where you are and what you are doing. When we can start to show up as we are, life looks and feels very different.
What can I expect from the first session?
Our first session is an opportunity to explore what has brought you to counselling, what you hope to gain from it, and whether working together feels right for you.

Living in the here and now is transformative - it is only by taking real and practical steps that our lives can begin to adapt.
So much of our focus is on our hopes for the future, but our lives are lived in the present moment. Whilst we wait for that future to arrive, the question is, What can we do meanwhile? What is possible right now?
When we start to relate to ourselves with curiosity rather than judgement, we begin to believe in the possibility that we can change and things can be different. But this means finding the courage to take the necessary steps.
With each step, our lives begin to shift.
