About me
Originally from London, I have worked over 7000 hours as a psychotherapist over the past 20 years. I love my work. I offer a warm, respectful and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about whatever is troubling you, at your own pace and we can get to the heart of what's going on and what you would like to be different.
My approach to therapy is collaborative and tailored to each individual. I work with you to understand what is happening for you now and how some past events may still be influencing and affecting your life today. Together, we can explore your experiences, patterns of thought and behaviour and ways of responding. There are many ways of gently shining a light on those old patterns and making space for some small but wise adjustments to emerge. Then you can consider new possibilities for moving forward.
I have worked with people from many different backgrounds and with a wide range of difficulties. I particularly value the privilege of being alongside people as they make sense of choices and beliefs from the past that may be causing problems today, develop greater self-understanding and begin to find new ways of living.
My background is in the arts. Before becoming accredited as a psychotherapist, I spent many years living and working in London, slowly weaving together the tapestry of my life that was yet to come. I am very curious by nature and deeply fascinated by how all of life works. I love to sing, draw and to write stories. In my 30s, I spent nine months in India, after which, life was never the same again...
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a UKCP Registered Psychotherapist and an accredited member of the Neurolinguistic Psychotherapy and Counselling Association (NLPtCA). I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Neurolinguistic Psychotherapy and have undertaken extensive additional training in psychotherapy, therapeutic hypnosis, Symbolic Modelling using Clean Language plus EFT and Matrix Reimprinting.
I have over 17 years’ post-qualification experience providing supervised clinical practice. My experience includes working with anxiety, depression, stress, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, life changes, grief, emotional distress and the effects of difficult or traumatic experiences. I have also worked therapeutically with people whose lives have been affected by the legacy of violent conflict in Northern Ireland.
My training in Symbolic Modelling and Clean Language has been a foundational influence on my work, providing a language to communicate with our inner metaphorical world.
EFT and Matrix Reimprinting provide a gentle yet highly effective approach to release trauma which you can learn a version of to do on your own.
I continue to undertake professional development and clinical supervision as part of my commitment to safe, ethical and effective practice.
Member organisations
school Registered / Accredited
Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.
The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.
As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.
UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
Sometimes we know that something isn’t right, but we may not fully understand why, or know how to change it. At other times, we may have spent years managing difficult experiences and simply reached a point where we would like things to be different. Whatever brings you to therapy, you don’t have to have everything worked out before you begin.
My work is about helping you develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your experiences, including the thoughts, feelings, patterns and responses that may have developed over time. Using a range of therapeutic approaches, I can help you gently explore what lies beneath the difficulties you are experiencing and discover new perspectives and possibilities.
Change does not necessarily mean becoming a different person. Sometimes it means becoming more fully yourself. If you feel ready to explore what might be possible for you, I would be very happy to hear from you.
