About me

I am a fully qualified psychotherapist and registered member of the BACP, with experience in both the NHS and charity sector. I offer a safe space and a non-judgemental listening ear.

What to expect from therapy

My way of working focuses on building collaborative and authentic relationships with my clients, based on trust. This supportive relationship helps create a space to explore any issues you may bring. Addressing these issues at depth in a compassionate environment allows us to tackle what may be causing pain or the feeling of being stuck or disconnected.

I believe that you are the expert in your own subjective way of being and talking therapy allows your experience to get the attention it deserves. This sense of agency can help us get a better sense of clarity, control or understanding.

Together we will find the best way for you to communicate whatever you want to bring to our sessions in a way that feels safe and comfortable.

What to expect from our initial call

Looking for a therapist that suits you can be a long or tricky process. I offer a free initial video/phone call (up to 30 mins) for us to start to get to know each other. You can ask me questions, tell me more about what you're looking for and then you can make the decision whether you'd like to continue to work together.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am trained as an integrative practitioner, drawing on different therapeutic styles to suit each client and their unique, individual needs. My core training focused primarily on humanistic psychotherapy, CBT and psychodynamic approaches.

I was awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy (PGDipPsych) at the University of Roehampton. I went on to study for my Masters degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy (MA) and was awarded the degree with distinction. The course is BACP accredited. I also hold a BACP Certificate of Proficiency.

Through my work within an NHS service I am experienced in working with people of all ages, from all backgrounds with a number of different struggles and experiences.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
