About me

Hello and welcome. My name is Yuliia. I am a qualified psychodynamic counsellor. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I offer counselling sessions online to adult individuals in English, Ukrainian and Russian.

Counselling is not just a job for me. I have a passion for supporting others in their uneasy times and helping them bring some meanings to their experiences. From my own personal experience, I know that at some point of our life we might need somebody 'to turn to' who can listen, understand, accept us as we are that can make a 'huge difference'. In my counselling sessions, I offer a safe, supportive, non-judgemental and accepting space to explore your current circumstances and past experiences bringing awareness of the underlying causes of your present issues, making sense of your struggles and finding ways to move forward in life.

In your initial session (approx. 30 minutes), we can discuss where you are at the moment (so, what is bringing you to counselling) and where you would like to be (or what you expect to gain from therapy) as well as what I can offer and how we might work together most productively.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • MA (with Distinction) in Psychoanalytic Studies - Birkbeck, University of London (2021);
  • Level 4 Diploma in Counselling Practice (Psychodynamic Modality) - North Notts College (2019);
  • Level 3 Certificate in Counselling Studies (Person-Centred Approach) (2017).

As well as working with common mental health issues such as anxiety and depression, I have experience working with trauma, loss and grief, veteran mental health challenges and stress as well as cultural issues and mental health problems in immigrants.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
