About me
I am a BACP accredited counsellor and my areas of specialisation include anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma and relationship difficulties. I aim to help clients cope with life's changes, explore what they want out of life and find a way forward.
My work is grounded in Transactional Analysis that looks at how we speak and respond to others; and at the roles we play. This enables choice, decision and positive change to be made. It is an exciting tool I use in my own life. It helps me to understand why I react in certain ways when I meet challenges and how to respond more appropriately in the here and now.
How I work:
We all face challenges in daily life and it's perfectly normal to feel overwhelmed from time to time. Whether it's pressure of work, personal relationships, or unexpected events, these challenges can leave us feeling anxious, scared, embarassed. It is important to realise that feeling this way doesn't mean we are weak; it simply means that we are human. Everyone has their own struggles and it's okay to reach out for help when you need it.
I provide an environment that is relaxed, safe and empathic, aiming to help clients to work through their difficulties and to make sense of what is troubling them.
My focus is centred on you as the client, and I will draw on a range of theoretical and practical training to best support you in overcoming your concerns.
I believe that we all have the ability to make changes but sometimes we think or behave in a way which prevents us from realising that potential, leaving us stuck, trapped or going round in circles. By exploring your patterned thoughts, feelings and behaviours, we can try to identify and shift the obstacles which are standing in your way.
My work space
I provide counselling in person and online.
I hold counselling sessions in person at my counselling cabin that is located in a calm and safe area of Chandler's Ford, with free street parking.
I also offer sessions in central Winchester, rented room.
For online appointments, I provide the client with a link via email. This takes the client to an online waiting room where I admit them at the session time.

Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
