About us
We're here to support you through a range of mental health difficulties that come up in life, including depression, anxiety and bereavement.
We've been providing counselling and Talking Therapies services for over 40 years.
Our Counsellors and Therapists follow the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions. This means that, although anyone can call themselves a counsellor, we meet strict professional standards.
For more information, please contact counselling@wimbledonguild.co.uk or call 020 8296 0030.
Training, qualifications & experience
We offer a range of free and low-cost counselling services, including individual counselling, peer support groups, and courses and workshops.
Our approach is to work psychodynamically, which means that we’re interested in helping you think about the difficulties you’re facing now, as well as thinking together about your past experiences.
Whilst we offer relatively long term counselling/psychotherapy, we also see clients at times for shorter periods of time too, you do not have to commit to long-term counselling/psychotherapy.
Member organisations *

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information
Please call us to book an assessment on 020 8296 0030.
This call will last roughly 20 minutes. We'll ask you a few questions about why you’d like to start therapy.
During the initial call we will book you in for an in-depth 90-minute conversation with an assessor that will take place in person at Wimbledon Guild.
After your assessment we will decide how best we can help you. For individual counselling, you'll be added to our waiting list and it could take up to 12 weeks to allocate you to a therapist. For group therapy, the wait may be shorter.
